OSAC Chennai Chapter

The Chennai Chapter is one of the oldest Chapters in the country, one of the most active chapters around the globe due to its diverse engagement with the Security fraternity, partnership with the U.S. Department of State, Chennai City Police, Academicians and student fraternity. The Chennai chapter won the 'Country Chapter Achievement Award' in 2021 for its excellence in engaging the Security fraternity during the pandemic with various programs and activities. The Chennai Chapter became the only Chapter globally to win both the Country Chapter Achievement Award (2021) & Distinguished Achievement Award for Private Sector (2020). Additionally, the Chennai Chapter was a finalist in the DRII International event in 2022 for their tremendous work in 'Response and Recovery' efforts as a group. The Chapter continues to lead Diversity and inclusivity (D&I) initiatives, the first Chapter in India to have women on the steering committee. In January 2024, the Chennai chapter also became the 1st in India to have a Women in Security (WiS) sub-committee under the chapter. There are 300-plus diverse members in the Chapter who lead various organizations in Security, Resilience, Business Continuity, Security infrastructure, Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence. During the 247th U.S. Independence Day celebrations last year, the Chapter's steering committee was appreciated by the U.S. Ambassador to India, "Eric Garcetti" for demonstrating excellence in protecting U.S. organizations in the region, a landmark moment.
