Shashikanth is the Chief Security Officer, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited and In-charge of Function/ Department with Key responsibilities of overall Security & Vigilance where he leads and supervises all the Aviation Security functions from an Airport Operator’s perspective. These include Security operations at the Terminal building, airside including Perimeter Security and Landside Security, Hold Baggage screening, Airport Entry Pass process. He also leads the technology implementation from a functional perspective in all areas of Security along with Procurement and Security administration duties including provision and maintenance of facilities to support the administration of CISF personnel. The role involves coordination with Government agencies including CISF, Immigration, Customs apart from local police in delivery of operations at the Airport. He has a total of 28 years of experience, of which 25 are with CISF, approx 3 yrs with Delhi Airport and presently at Hyderabad airport for last 4 months (May 2025). While in CISF, he served as Chief Airport Security Officer of 5 Airports including Chennai, Cochin, Chandigarh, Patna and Mangalore and also served as Dy Contingent Commander of the Indian Formed Police deployed with the United Nations mission in Haiti.

Served in CISF with distinction for 25 years before taking Voluntary Retirement from Service (VRS). contributed significantly to the CISF spread and growth in the Aviation Sector. Was awarded several medals including the prestigious UN Service Medal, Special Service Medal for J &K, Director General’s Commendation Discs for various instances of Outstanding discharge of service.
